NoteThis species was described in 2025 . The occasional specimen was coming up in deep water trawling activity in the Arufura sea area in Northen Australia. They appear to inhabit water in the range of 250m plus. It seems they exist as well to the west in the Timor Sea of the Kimberly. I only now of one live taken specimen that has come up since the discovery and description. They are generally dead taken and quite rare. These two specimens are both dead taken, very typical and similar to the type specimens. One although obviously dead is in reasonable condition, no growth lines and the lip is chattered but reasonable. The other larger one is In similar condition but has a growth line near the aperture on the underside. See the photos for further description. Hard to get these .
