The specimen was trawled in 1979, and was initially held in the famous Boswell collection of South Africa, until being acquired by Luigi Raybaudi in the 1990s. Gleaming live-collected gloss, and beautiful, subtle, fully stable colour, with as fresh an appearance as if collected this year. Very midwayensis-like. A treasure of the JES Collection, now to be passed to another highly advanced Cypraeidae connoisseur. Data: Off Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa; upon sand/mud/rubble substrate; 100-200 m; trawled; 1979. Size: 15.2 mm. Grading: Gem.
