NoteA crabbed specimen found crawling on sand adjacent to a reef ledge during June 2026. It was collected from 86 metres of water west northwest of Quoin Head off Dirk Hartog Island. It has an octopus drill hole in its aperture and a fine rough lip. Even so it is a representative specimen of a mega rare volute and displays nicely with full pattern and is without any growth defect.
