At night we see a few cernica feeding on geodia sponges. They are very difficult to collect as they are very small and high tail it for cover as soon as a they are lit up by the ROV lights. We found this specimen on a geodia sponge in 86 metres of water west of Bernier off Shark Bay during June 2026. We cheated and placed our catcher between him and his hide out hole. He crawled straight into the catcher. Perhaps this proves I am smarter that the average cernica. GEM.
