| Note | This is a specimen of the very rare and hard-to-obtain marine snail Chlanidota densesculpta. This species is a rare endemic Antarctic species with a nice very fragile shell minutely sculptured with spiral fine ribs and a very nice periostracum with many minute hairs. This specimen is preserved dry, with its soft parts dry inside and its original operculum still stuck to its soft parts. Overall the shell is nice, with only minor damages, and the lip has some issues as can be seen in the images. This is my last specimen, from my own collection. |
