An impressive and high-quality specimen of Astraea heliotropium, measuring a substantial 105.30mm. This iconic "Sunburst Star Turban" is a classic representative of New Zealand’s deep-water fauna. Crucially, it includes its original operculum, a highly desirable and rare feature that significantly enhances its collectibility and value.Collected live many years ago, the shell displays an elegant, natural pearly luster and beautiful structural details. The characteristic long, delicate spines that give this species its sunburst appearance are overwhelmingly well-preserved around the periphery, with only two minor missing spines that do not detract from its overall display quality.
