NoteA UNIQUE specimen of this exquisite and difficult to obtain species, exhibiting the phenomenon of two distinct peripheries to the body whorl, a feature I have seen upon no other example. Somewhat available back in the 1970s-1980s, but now very difficult to obtain, especially at this quality. Definitely for the landsnail specialist interested in rare variants. Data: Buin region, Bougainville, South Bougainville, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea; in highland rainforest, upon tree branch; 1975. Size: 41.7 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
