NoteImpressive form, thick nacred, inflated, solid and cream primary hued specimen of this rare Australian deep water form. Remarkable and gorgeous shell with characteristic convex base, modestly depressed and inflated oval body with thick rounded margins featuring an immaculate dorsum with three faint embryonic bands. The heavily nacred specimen shows sparsely sprinkled spotting on both lateral walls and margin with a strong weight/size ratio (49.0 grams). The kostini features mild pale apricot/golden orange pigmented flawless extremities, soft ivory/nude dorsal primary pigmentation and a perfect porcelain white base. Collected by ROV at 192 meters on flat sandy, shale/rubble substrate among sparse small sponge and fine weeds in the Perth Trench, off Lancelin, Western Australia in 2025. The specimen shows one subtle, impalpable, long growth line that presents as a mild/soft color transition line. Grade: F+++/GEM.
