| Note | Rare ROV taken specimen from the deep water. The shell is exquisite, with bright shades of chocolate/coffee brown shades framing the margins and lateral walls with a walnut brown base and paler orange pigmentation along the mid-aperture. The shell exudes an egg white dorsal window covered with two thick harvest gold bands anteriorly and posteriorly leaving a single thinner band centrally to produce a signature dorsal pattern. The depressed oval specimen is distinctively unique. The shell was plucked by ROV at 138 meters from a sponge sprouting from a flat sandy/silty substrate. The shell was captured approximately 50 miles southeast of Augusta, southwest coast of Western Australia on 3/2018. The regularis exhibits a micro interior channel chip on the labral anterior extremity tip and a soft /shallow wobble on the anterior collumellar dorsum ramp. Grade: F++/F+++. |
