NoteAn EXCEPTIONAL large specimen of this rare and beautiful species. Extremely rare quality – PERFECTION. Exquisite colour. Supremely well-formed external surface pattern. Rarely collected upon account of the difficulty in accessing the altitude and terrain of its habitat. The specimen was collected by Andean natives of the Cundinamarca region. Specimens are now almost never freshly collected, and have become coveted ‘collector’s items’. Data: Mondoñedo, Cordillera Oriental, Andean Region, Department of Cundinamarca, Colombia; in montane forest, at 2670 MAMSL, upon tree branch; January 2024. Size: 38 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
