NoteThe FINEST specimen of the JES Collection. RARE QUALITY – PERFECTION. Extremely large size. Ultra-rich and beautiful apertural colour. The majority of extremely large examples are ungainly, whilst those exhibiting particularly elongate and graceful digitations, in conjunction with balanced proportions are extremely rare, and have become highly coveted ‘collector’s items’, commanding a premium. Almost never freshly collected now, coming mainly from choice old collections. Data: Baie Haatuatua, Nuku Hiva, Marquesas Islands; upon coarse coral sand/rubble substrate; 20 m; dived; 2012. Size: c.176 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
