| Note | On this auction are a few Zoila from my personal collection, not random stock shells. This one is an important specimen figured in Wilson & Clarkson's book from 2004 "Australia's Spectacular Cowries", page 106, plate 92, fig. d. With Clarkson's tag. Found 40m deep in 1997. The shell is not gem, it does have a very shallow (minor) posterior canal chip on one side, also a very tiny anterior nick, more felt than seen, and a nacre blemish (dent) about 3 or 4mm in diameter on the right side of the dorsum. Intermediate pattern like some trawled shells. Beautiful spotting on both margins. A real prize since it was figured in the book. In my collection since March 2022. |
