| Note | Exceptionally sculptured specimen with four erect and fimbrate backswept varices. The backswept spine processes on this specimen are outstanding, difficult to find specimens of this species with this level anatomical form. The entire shell is covered with scabrous lamellae with strong axial cording. The shell is a ochre brown with a porcelain white aperture. Collected on rocks at low tide in 6/1966 by James Bailey off Bahia de Los Angeles, Baja, California Sur Mexico, a rare Baja murex seldom encountered by collectors. The dorsal varix spine is separated and the apex shows typical erosion. Grade; F++/F+++. |
