NoteExcellent sandstone orange pigmented dorsum, clean dorsal line and super thick nacre highlight this unique large specimen. The large beauty shows sharp striped margins, flawless extremities and a subdued sienna brown base pattern. The shell does show strong callousing of the columellar wall margins and burnt sienna pigmented margins framing the chocolate brown patched base. Strong/moderate array of sharp and diffuse dorsal spotting, which is uncommon for the subspecies. The shell was trawled at 120-140 meters off Taihou, East China Sea in 3/2017. The shell displays two mini silt inclusion blemishes between the columellar aperture teeth and viewed in the ventral image. Grade: F+++/GEM minus.
