| Note | Large, inflated and hyper-calloused specimen from the Hawaiian Islands. Brilliant color, thick nacre and notable reticulated pattern and clean dorsal line. Heavy shell, with thick round calloused margins with minimal tubercules on the anterior margins with beautiful dark spotting extending over the margins and peripheral base. A solid shell with perfect extremities and a strong weight/size ratio (75.7 grams). The maculifera shows perfect extremities and dorsum. Scuba diver captured off Kaena Point, Oahu, Hawaii on a night dive and lifted from under a ledge at 10 meters in 2020. There is evident a micro coral nick on the mid-columellar lateral wall and a hard to find and see glazed/flush coral scratch mid-dorsum. Grade: F+++. |
