| Note | Exquisite specimen that exhibits a symmetrical and balanced form with a stellar display of classic guttata dorsal spotting. The deep water mature specimen shows excellent thick nacre gloss and breathtaking large spots, wonderfully arranged on the captivating dorsum. The shell presents with a moderate weight/size ratio, a wonderful impressive base pattern with aperture teeth extensions spreading dramatically over the margins, lateral walls and clinging all the way to the dorsum and actually covering several spots on the posterior ramp (19.3 grams). Trapped by fishermen off Balut Island, southern Mindanao, Philippines using tangle nets at 100-200 meters in 5/2025. The specimen has subtle silt stains between some columellar teeth. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
