| Note | A gigantic, superglobose shell distinguished by an extraordinarily broad aperture in proportion to its body whorl. Much of the original periostracum is preserved, imparting an attractive olive-brown coloration to the shell. The aperture is exceptionally expanded and bordered by a thick beige outer lip delicately suffused with subtle violet tones, creating a striking visual effect. The shell displays a small naturally repaired impact scar on the ventral side and another on the dorsal surface, both successfully repaired by the living mollusk. These accidents did not prevent the specimen from attaining full maturity and developing one of the broadest apertures I have ever observed in this species. Such natural scars in no way detract from its outstanding aesthetic appeal or collectible value; rather, they provide subtle testimony to the specimen's authenticity, resilience, and natural history within its native habitat. Collected by local inhabitants in June 2026 from the leaf litter of a humid Andean forest in the Department of Santander, Colombia, at an elevation of 1,550 meters above sea level. The ongoing deforestation and logging of the Colombian Andes have made specimens of this exceptional quality increasingly difficult to obtain, greatly enhancing their desirability and value among collectors in the international malacological market.
