| Note | A large and exceptionally rare specimen, extremely difficult to obtain nowadays in any size or condition. Collected by trawling at a depth of 50 m over sandy mud, it retains traces of the original periostracum and exhibits an eroded dorsum, the natural condition in which this species is most frequently encountered. The lip shows a few small chips. Collected off San Sebastián, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, in January 2002. An increasingly elusive opportunity to acquire a representative specimen of this highly sought-after species, making it a valuable addition to any serious volute collection. |
