| Note | An EXCEPTIONAL ULTRA-LARGE specimen of this exquisite, endemic north-eastern Australian species. Now protected in virtually all localities, and obtainable only from choice old collections. Very difficult to obtain at this size and quality now. HABITAT NOTE: During the now gone days of availability, this highly elusive species was almost impossible to discover in its natural habitat, unless one numbered amongst the few who knew of the symbiotic relationship between this mollusc and certain species of sea anemone, underneath or around the base of which the species secludes itself during low tide. Data: Eastern coast of Moreton Island, South-East Queensland, Queensland, Australia; upon sand/silt substrate, under sea anemone, at extreme seasonal low tide; 1980. Size: 31.7 mm. Grading: Gem; w/o.
