| Note | This is a very nice big impressive specimen of this ver hard to get species. Trawled from very deep,water in the remote NW of Western Australia by deep water fisherman these seldom surface with there spines intact. This one did indeed and it’s a really nice big long spined example of this Rare shell , protoconch is perfect , mature lip and colomular plate is complete is fully formed .No growth breaks or or flaws . Taken fresh dead after being killed by an octopus or some predatory Gastropoda that has drilled a small hole in the spire, there’s also a small drill around well inside the aperture. Apart from that this is a ver nice big super spiny example of this very rare species. |
