| Item | # 0004190642 |
| Family | Fissurellidae |
| Name | Fissurella maxima , G. B. Sowerby I, 1834 |
| Size | 94.7 mm |
| Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
| Note | One nice live-taken and large specimen of Fissurella maxima, the largest species of Fissurellidae. This species lives on rocks, usually near and under forests of giant Lessonia algae. This specimen was carefully cleaned and treated with mineral oil to highlight the very nice pattern on the dorsum, it has some minor damages as chips or nicks in the borders. I have received several of these cleaned specimens, which I am here offering for cheap due to the minor flaws. |
