HIPPONICIDAE - Hipponix leptus panamensis (C.B.Adams, 1852). RARE MONSTER SIZE AND SUPERB EXTENDED PLATES WOOOOOW!! TORTILLAS PLATES!! The second biggest I have ever collected. Extremely rare size and hard to get live species, they are almost impossible to remove from stones without break them, this here is really intact. This are most hard attached to the buried stones and invisible for the eyes. Sometimes currents make them appear between. Very mysterious species from the Pacific. Extremely thick lip with micro multiple scales around the outer lip, very callous thick inside the ventral middle part. On the dorsum side present Multiple layers overlapping each other with flat form as usual for the species. Specimen with the best sculpture and uniform shape. "Tortillas plate form" Rough species. F+++. For advancer collectors. Uncommon species, seldom offer virtually and impossible at this huge sizes. Found attached on top of buried stones about 6m deep , Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico.
