| Note | An OUTSTANDING large specimen, from the ‘old days’ of Easter Island availability, exhibiting ultra-dark, now fully stable colour. Particularly spectacular ventrum: warm deep orange and chocolate. Supremely well-formed dorsal pattern. Hypermature: solid and heavy for size, with pronounced marginal and ventral callosity. Now difficult to obtain at this level of size, quality, and beauty. Data: Off Tongariki, Hotuiti Bay, Easter Island; upon reef substrate, under slab; 2-3 m; dived; 1974. Size: 30.1 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
