Note

Arinaga, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Shallow rocky habitat at 1 m depth; collected May 2023. GPS data will be supplied with the specimens. Curated reference series of 14 large adult specimens and 5 subadults. All large specimens retain the aperture, apex, and protoconch intact, a very rare condition for this species. In typical material, at least one of these structures is frequently damaged or missing, making fully grown, well-preserved specimens exceptionally difficult to obtain. Included is one albinotic specimen from a separate locality: Playa del Verodal, El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain; collected at low tide, February 2023. GPS data will also be supplied for this specimen. This specimen lacks the apex and protoconch but is otherwise well preserved, providing an interesting example of colour variation within the species. A curated reference series documenting both typical and albinotic forms, suitable for comparative reference, display, or study collection use.
