| Note | Malmok, Aruba, dived 6 meters deep on sand bottom at night. Voluta caquetio is a newly described species from Aruba, accepted by WoRMS, and was previously identified as Voluta musica. It differs from Voluta musica by its broader shape, higher protoconch, more numerous columellar folds, and paler shell with stronger, high-contrast banding. Endemic to Aruba. Grade: (F+++/Gem) Hard to find in this quality. Most specimens we found are either juvenile, have a broken lip, or show algae growth. |
