NoteAn exceptional, giant-sized specimen of Umbilia hesitata hesitata, measuring an impressive 109.59 mm, trawled from the deep, cold waters of Lady Barron, Tasmania. This magnificent shell represents a true trophy-grade piece for serious cypraeidae collectors, comfortably exceeding the typical size range for the species and exhibiting the robust, heavy structure characteristic of a fully mature male. The shell boasts a flawless, snow-white base with highly pronounced, sharply defined teeth and thick lateral calluses. Its elegant, high-domed dorsum features a soft, creamy background adorned with a beautiful, delicate pattern of light brown and warm peach mottling. The natural, porcelain-like gloss is fully preserved across the entire surface, accentuating the smooth curves and the distinctive umbilicate spire that gives this iconic Australian endemic its name. A stellar centerpiece with wonderful aesthetics and superb display quality. Grade: F+++/GEM. Shell No.: 1211.
