| Size | 50.5 mm |
| Locality | Australia |
| Note | A specimen of the VERY RARE DEEP-WATER SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FORM, from a VERY RARE, far off-shore LOCALITY. Characteristic ultra-large, inflated, shell, and exquisite delicate pink whorls, and pale lemon apertural lip. Exemplary quality for this trawled form, with nothing but the most restricted trawl fraying to siphonal canal. Only collected for a few years in the late 1980s, and now obtainable only from a few important old Australian collections. Definitely for the advanced Cassidae specialist whose collection yet lacks this virtually never offered form. Data: Off Evans Island, Nuyts Archipelago, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 40-80 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 50.5 mm. Grading: Fine+++ (minor trawl fraying to siphonal canal). Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
