Out of a box of about 20 large Lentigo pipus. This strombus is found in numbers in the algae fields along the coast of northern Bohol, usually below 18 m deep. Pieces from over 60 mm are uncommon: most measure around 54 mm and there are also communities of dwarf forms. We found a highly unusual phenomenon in this box: Two young shells of very big sizes. Here a growth series that starts with a pretty juvenile piece on the left, half adult in the centre and the adult one is the smallest. The juvenile one is the largest. Try to understand such. To discuss with your fellow collectors and a funny demonstration set for your visitors, speaking about the wonders of nature. Left to Right = 70 mm., 69 mm., 63 mm. Philippines. Bohol. 10-25 m. 2012. #711161
