Note

A magnificent superglobose specimen, distinguished by an extraordinarily broad aperture in proportion to its body whorl. The shell is entirely devoid of periostracum, allowing its remarkable natural coloration to be fully appreciated. The aperture is notably expanded and bordered by a thick violaceous-beige outer lip, while much of the shell displays an exceptionally attractive violet pigmentation rarely encountered in this species. A slight growth line is present on the ventral surface, yet it does not detract from the outstanding beauty and overall aesthetic appeal of this extraordinary shell. Collected by local inhabitants in January 2026 among the leaf litter of humid Andean forest in the department of Santander, Colombia, at an altitude of 1,550 meters above sea level. Continuous deforestation and logging throughout the Colombian Andes have made specimens of this quality increasingly difficult to locate, greatly enhancing their desirability and collector value on the international malacological market.
