A virtually 90 mm specimen of this elegant, uncommon, deep-water species, from the ‘old days’ of Taiwanese deep-water trawling. Now very difficult to obtain – especially at this level of size and quality – coming only from choice old collections. Exemplary overall quality, incorporating very rare retention of the glassy, mammillate protoconch, lost upon the majority of examples. For the Terebridae specialist. Data: Off Kaohsiung, Taiwan; upon sand/mud/rubble substrate; 80-140 m; trawled; 1982. Size: 89.4 mm. Grading: Fine+++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
