| Size | 70.3 mm |
| Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
| Note | One nice live-taken specimen of the rare Fissurella costata. This species is naturally rare and hard to collect because it lives only in large rocks or boulders in the surf zone, so it is always out of reach in the coast and the waves here are huge. This specimen has a tiny foramen, and a natural dorsum, with some calcareous algae, as can be seen in the images. This algae coberture can be cleaned to perfection with some patience. A very low initial price for this interesting and rare Fissurella species from the SE Pacific. |
