LOTTIIDAE - Lottia stanfordiana (S. S. Berry, 1957). SPECIAL WHITE COLOR FORM!! This elegant unique piece presents a crazy dense and dominant white coloration like a tents between the brown-green coloration. Really irresistible. The shell shows a radiant glossy bluish pristine coloration with a tiny brown ring color all around the lip in the ventral side , the middle large dark brown spot is just exquisite. Light usual dorsal erosion and tiny natural imperfections coming as always for this rough species not really detracting the beauty. F++-F+++ This is the highest selected and seldom seen conditions you can get for the species with extremely strong dominant fully white pattern spots. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds attached to the smooth stones, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide.
