| Note | F+/F++ Red Sea is known by a strong endemism of species, namely in Cypraeidae and also in Conidae. This population, and a valid species, was separated from Virgiconus terebra (Born, 1778): "The shells differ from...(Virgiconus terebra) by the more conical shape, paler colouration, smooth last whorl and straighter spire. They are endemic from the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden", in Monnier et al. 2018, vol. 2, pp 1072. With some tiny attempted drills near canal but and minor growth lines but not bad and well representative of the species. Djibouti (Red Sea). The label with full data (location, habitat, collection technique and date) will be provided to the buyer. CON02797 |
