| Note | This MAGNIFICENT ULTRA-LARGE specimen of the beautiful CORAL SEA FORM – the LARGEST of the JES Collection – was collected over half a century ago by legendary Australian shell explorer Tom Nielsen, and the original 1972 Nielsen label accompanies the specimen. Exemplary quality, especially with regards preservation of the delicate siphonal canal. Retention of original operculum. It is now extremely difficult to obtain a specimen of the Coral Sea form, with examples coming only from choice old collections. Data: Diamond Reef, Australian Coral Sea Islands Territory, Australia; upon sand substrate; 10-20 m; dived; 1972. Size: 82.2 mm. Grading: Fine+++; w/o.
