| Note | A magnificent, GIANT-sized specimen of Scaphella elizabethae measuring 114.21mm. Originally labeled as S. junonia in an old collection, its identity as S. elizabethae was personally confirmed via email by world-renowned malacologist Dr. Edward Petuch. This species is endemic to the Floridian Subprovince, and specimens of this magnitude are extremely rare. Collected off Key West, Florida, at a depth of 150 feet. The shell features the characteristic elevated and heavily-sculptured early whorls of the species, with a vivid and clean spotted pattern. Condition is F+++, with a very minor nick on the lip as shown in photos, but otherwise boasting an intact protoconch and superb presence. A historic, expert-verified addition for any serious Volutidae collector. Shell No.: 1138.
