NoteA MAGNIFICENT ULTRA-LARGE, ULTRA-DARK specimen of this beautiful subspecies. Markedly thick, resplendent gloss. Impeccably curated, with now fully stable colour, as rich as the day it was collected – ultra-dark caramel-ochre, with prominent reddish ochre ventral maculations. Well-developed dentition. An exquisite jewel for the Cypraeidae connoisseur. Data: Off Talima, Olango, Cebu, Philippines; upon coarse coral sand/rubble substrate, amongst coral reef; 12 m; diving; 2014. Size: 21.2 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
