Note
Highly pigmented specimen of this subspecies taken from the Sea of Cortez. Excellent axial dashed spotted lines, wide and narrow deep dark chocolate brown longitudinal flammules, significant gloss and white porcelain hued aperture. The specimen features a perfect spire, excellent body whorl gloss with a thick natural lip. This is an excellent example of this subspecies. Collected by free diver on sand at 3-4 metes off Punta Chavato, Baja California, Mexico in 1977. The shell shows protoconch erosion and a mini-nick of the posterior lip. Grade: F+++.
