| Note | Exquisitely sculptured specimen with three erect and fimbrate backswept varices. The backswept spine processes on this specimen are outstanding, difficult to find specimens of this species with this level of superb anatomical form. The entire shell is covered with scabrous lamellae with strong axial cording. The shell is a ochre brown with a porcelain white aperture. Collected on rocks at low tide in 6/1966 by James Bailey off Bahia de Los Angeles, Baja, Mexico, a rare Baja find. The dorsal varix spine is separated and the apex shows typical erosion. Grade; F++/F+++. |
