| Note | Moderately sized and globose specimen with seven varices. Beautifully colored shell with rare egg-shell/cornsilk white base color, buffed brown axial interrupted striping, and a deep pink aperture. The shell also displays the margin of each varix raised above the shell surface, exposing the pink coloration on the previous outer lips. Aperture is ovate with and the outer lip dentate. The shell was harvested by Scuba diver on sand/rubble substrate between boulders at 8-10 meters off Isla Ceralvo, La Paz, Baja Sur, Mexico in the Sea of Cortez in the mid 90s. The specimen has a darkened inclusion on the ventral body whorl, a slight chip on a spine varix and a chip at the siphonal canal terminus. Grade: F+++. |
