| Note | Moderately sized, inflated, wide and hyper-calloused member of this striking Hawaiian species. Brilliant color, thick nacre and superb reticulated pattern. Heavy shell, with thick calloused margins with tubercules and beautiful dark spotting extending over the margins and peripheral base. A solid shell with a strong weight/size ratio (71.8 grams). The maculifera shows perfect extremities and base. Snagged by Scuba diver off Kaena Point. Oahu, Hawaii on night dive under a ledge at 8-10 meters in 2020. The specimen has a hard to see subtle shallow growth creases on the posterior ramp. Grade: GEM. |
