| Note | Thickly glossed specimen with a remarkable rusty scarlet/brick red veil. The entire shell and pattern are enclosed in a intense thick prominent nacre without nacre breaks. Rare to find these desirable "rusties" in close to immaculate condition. Highly collectable and interesting variation of this Atlantic Ocean beauty (75.2 grams). The shell shows thick margins, perfect extremities and aperture teeth. Taken by diver i off Pointe des Almadies, Dakar, Senegal, West Africa at 10 meters roving around on a ship wreck circa 2000. The Trona displays one small glazed algae area on the base and a one mini-pimple on the labral posterior ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
