| Note | An OUTSTANDING large specimen, of RARE QUALITY for this typically rough species, with exemplary preservation of elongate, recurved, ultra-delicate siphonal canal. Beautiful rich ochre-caramel, with ivory accents. Now very difficult to obtain, especially at this size and quality. Locality now protected as the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary, with no fresh specimens being available in future, and being obtainable only from choice old collections. Data: Gulf of Santa Catalina, off Santa Catalina Island, Channel Islands, California, USA; upon rock reef substrate; 12 m; dived; 1987. Size: 35.3 mm. Grading: Gem.
