NoteWe have just returned from an adventure to the Great Australian Bight. This involves a round trip of 800 kilometers. We were fortunate to get three days of good weather and spend a couple of days in the Western Great Australian Bight. We found one live and one dead Cypraea orientalis orientalis in a sponge garden in 54 metres of water south of Twilight Cove. It is free from any growth defect and has intact siphons but has significant dorsal nacre loss. Originally these specimens from the Western Great Australian Bight were described as gabensis. In my view type orientalis is the most difficult marginata form to acquire.
