| Note | We have been working our way through the several locality variants of this beautiful species held within the JES Collection, with examples from Japan, Australia, and New Caledonia thus far. In this sale I offer the ONLY ultra-large SOLOMON ISLNDS specimen of the collection. Beautiful colour: lemon; pinkish lavender; white; yellow; and pale orange-ochre. Exemplary quality. Very difficult to obtain now from this locality. Data: Marau Sound, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands; upon sand/rubble substrate, amongst seagrass, at night; 6 m; dived; 1986. Size: 77.6 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
