Beautiful subtle colours. This species is often dead-collected, with a superb live-collected example such as the current specimen being seldom emcountered. A rare jewel for the Volutidae specialist, or connoisseur of truly exquisite seashells. Data: Square Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon sand substrate; 40-60 m; dredged; 1987. Size: 60.2 mm. Grading: Fine++++ (extremely minor loss to columellar side of anterior canal). Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
