| Note | Distinctive, glossy nacred example of a highly collectable anatomically superb guttata subspecies. Anatomically elongate form with prominent teeth and ribbing (stripping) complementing the extremities and light camel brown/nude margins. Moderately heavy for its size (9.6 grams), excellent shell with a wide dispersion and balanced array of diffuse smaller dorsal white spots ......... like looking at the big night sky. The ascending dark stripes provide a beautiful anatomical contrast. The rich nacre on this particular specimen is lovely. Captured by by Scuba diver at 45 meters off Raya Island, Phuket, Thailand on rock/sponge substrate in 2010. The shell exhibits two white silt inclusions covered by nacre between the labral teeth. Grade: GEM. |
