| Note | EXTREMELY RARE SPECIES IN MEXICO WOOOOOW!! This is the first time I have ever found this ultra rare species. I have found in a place I dived for years and never saw a single one there. I was in shock when I saw, like a dream, because I was thinking this species are found deeper and more in Ecuador and Panama. I was really lucky with this find. A real giant Purpurellus pinniger definitely for the Muricidae specialist, very difficult to obtain species. Wonderful specimen with delicate 3 classic winged varices, extended wing lip and wing siphon. Elegant to display the ventral side. Note that this shell is not a Gem conditions, it was really full with calcareous attachments and no that easy to remove, two of the 3 sides are really nice between with no holes. But the one where the dorsal lip is , presents a multiple micro holes as you can see on the left top picture. Apex absent but still really nice form. Original unique design operculum. Natural erosion for this rough species. F++. Found attached aside and under a big muddy stone near corals about 6m deep. Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. January 2026.
