| Note | A remarkable example of an exotic species from the South Seas. This particular species was formerly identified as C. textilinus (Kiener, 1847). The specimen boasts strong pigmentation, three strong micro-tented bands, standout longitudinal striping and beautiful form and symmetry. The cone features extraordinary nacre gloss, wonderfully patterned spire and fantastic micro tenting throughout the body whorl. Collected by Scuba diver Marty Beals on a night dive at 10-15 meters while cruising on a sand rubble substrate off Taiohae Bay, Nuka Hiva, Marquesas in 12/2017. The shell has a mini-chip at the anal notch and another on the anterior siphonal extremity. Grade: F+++. |
