| Note | Mature specimen with a superb lateral wall spotting pattern and a notable display of classic transverse dorsal bands, typical for this form. Superbly inflated, excellent nacre gloss and perfect extremities with harmonious pink/apricot pigmentation. The specimen shows modest rostration and a moderate weight/size ratio (34.2 grams) with a porcelain white pristine base. The smaller sized distinctive spotting climbing the labral lateral wall is a aesthetically desirable characteristic for this subspecies. Snatched from a reef sponge by Scuba dive at 48-52 meters off Cheynes Bay, South Coast, Western Australia in 10/2006. The specimen has a short palpable shallow wobble on the posterior columellar ramp. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
