| Note | One very nice specimen of the rare Fissurella costata. This species is naturally rare and hard to collect because it lives only in large rocks or boulders in the surf zone, so it is always out of reach in the coast and the waves here are huge. These have very concave shells, with narrow and sharp margins. This specimen has a natural dorsum, ligtly cleaned and completely covered by a calcarous algae (which can be cleaned carefully to reveal the very nice lemon-yellow sculptured dorsum. A low initial price for an interesting and rare Fissurella species. |
